3 weeks from France, mad really isn't it how these things can vary. When you consider you can get stuff from Thomann in a few days. Different I know, but distance-wise...........

Afternoon chaps.
Great news.
My bass arrived 5 mins ago in top shape.
It's been really stressful.
I really appreciate all your advice.
Keep a look out..I'll be posting pics very soon.
Definitely worth waiting for....a 1978 BC Rich Eagle bass...fretless!

Fretless BC Rich Eagle !! No wonder you were worried.
My own "6-10 working days" period of sleepless nights just started :)

Best of luck.

I bought a Charrington "Bass" wall clock - went missing in the post and seller refunded my money - received an email earlier from him - item returned to him. Going ahead with the sale again even though I bought another on ebay.

Ooh lovely! Pictures when you get a chance please.

You could also post it in the "BC Rich Porn" thread if you like, it could do with some new additions:

By some strange change in fortunes, the bass has made it to the ..now just waiting for parcelforce to process and post to me. The bass was posted on 27th March in
France...it's taken 3 weeks so far!!!...just to get from France??...I think that's s**t...and it still isn't in my hands..I hope after all this it's not been harmed.

lol you don't even have to get your feet wet to travel to France, seriously . Why didn't you just go on a day trip via the chunnel?

For a nice bass surely you'd do that rather than pay and wait, and wait....I don't get it. As an Aussie, EVERY parcel from another country is overseas, and a LOT of seas at that lol. I WISH I could hop on a train and be anywhere in Europe.

I love the way dual split P pickups look on a bass, but what are the tonal advantages/differences of having a split P at the bridge? Not exactly the most common set up so haven't ever played one and interested to see what people think of it

Hi, I have a vox standard bass with a Di Marzio P pick up near the bridge...sounds great..quite similar in many ways to a J type in the same position.

I've got one of those. It was my 1st bass.

Needs a bit of TLC, but I'm working on it. I've also defretted it.

Still have the original hardware & pick ups too.

Sadly it costs £20 to get the next town by train, so 'anywhere in Europe' by train would probably about one kidney.

That pic was taken 5 years ago. Sadly, it's still looking the same.
But... I've now decided I'm going to start working on it & refinsh & rebuild it. Heck, I might even get a scratch plate made for it!
I think I'll paint this one (rather than wood finish).
