Wilco Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 (edited) According to FB, pre orders for the new models in May, for June delivery - to US customers mind. Presumably won't be long after they'll be available from Thomann. Edited April 13, 2017 by Wilco Quote
Fisheth Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 If they do that P in a five string and a fretless type, I'm going to be all over that. Quote
Rich Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I will be astonished if they don't do a 5 string. The fact that they're giving it the Jazz neck means that i will be verrrrry tempted. Quote
CameronJ Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 They are both calling my name! The P shall take priority for me though I reckon. Quote
Chris2112 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I've heard mostly good things about these Sire basses and Marcus seems really passionate about them. I do wonder what is going on behind the scenes with Fender's endorsee relations. I can understand that they might not have fancied keeping Stuart Hamm's Urge bass in the lineup, but the MM signature jazz bass seemed like a big seller and it was, after all, just a modified jazz. bazzbass Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 been looking at Sires for a while now. They have just appointed an Australian retailer and they are very affordable woohoo. Quote
Grassie Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I have a V7, very tempted by the V9. Hopefully they've addressed the string-through issue. Quote
mattbass6 Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I really hope they bring out a 5 string with a maple board. These look very interesting. I would love the new Fender Pro P5 but the price is just crazy for a bass I would like to have, "just because". Fingers crossed. Quote

Zummerbass Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Re Grassie post. String thru issue? Very tempted to satisfy my fretless needs with a Sire. What is/was the problem? Quote
Zummerbass Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Ok, found the relevant thread. Not entirely encouraging. Are Thomann the only European dealer? Quote

cetera Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Starting to appear on Thomann....... but not in stock yet. Prices have gone up £150+ on the V7 price when I got one.... BassBunny Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017
Hmm. That headstock still :-/
Easily rectified with a detail sander. Not unlike Harldley Bentmans and I reshaped one of those in about 15mins and it looked good. Quote
bobbytodd Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 as good a write up these basses get I cant stand the shape of the headstock Quote
Bolo Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) Big improvement over the fender growth headstock, the colors matching better than the natural. Still, there's room for improvement. I like the m7 headstock, it's a direct copy of MTD. Edited April 30, 2017 by Bolo Quote
