Guest
Just picked up a Fender Classic 50s Precision today, and oh good grief, it is lovely. I have used a standard Jazz bass for the last 7 years or so, and it has been the only bass I've used so this is quite a change. I'm still getting used to that wider string spacing and that 1.75 nut. But hey it's absolutely lovely, and it came with flats! Has anyone else got, or used, one of these? Edited April 23, 2017 by Guest
Raslee
Great basses the 50's, brilliant tone & quality. Funny enough I've picked up a 2012 USA P today and the quality on the MIM 50's was easily on par. Shameless plug, but, I have hipshot d-tuner I'm going to sell on here that goes on the 50's (reversed tuner too) Any how enjoy that bass, surely a classic in the making
Highfox
They are nice, I sometimes use my Roadworn P now with flats, pretty much the same bass.

Cat Burrito
My first bass was an 80s MIJ Fender 50s P-bass. I re-bought one last year. Having played with flats for years I'm just enjoying a return to roundwound strings. It's all good though. Great basses.
Cyrene
I replaced my Squier CV with one of these. I love it. The neck feels wonderful and the whole bass is so well balanced. Even with the heaviest LaBella Deep Talkin flats I'm able to get the action really low too. Enjoy!
Lozz196
I had one a few years back, very nice basses indeed.
Geek99
I tried one in PMT Leeds and I SO nearly bought it. Then I picked up a classic 50s pup on eBay and used it in my bitsa. People were always complimenting it

[/quote] I have the very same one (my avatar - I replaced the pickguard 'though, I didn't like the feel of the metallic one)... it's lovely and one of only a handful of basses I never felt I wanted to change anything in it (functionally)... I love the wide spacing!
Iacopo San
I have exactly the same bass, same fingerboard and colour. It's my only bass and I love it, is definitely a keeper. I bought mine from someone who changed the original pickups for Delano ones, so not sure about the difference that this made, but I love the sound of it, so all good
Fred Leicester
I've got a roadworn sunburst one, with Infeld flatwounds. I've barely picked up any of my other basses since buying it a year or so ago....
Storky
I also have the same one, got it New in 2011, changed the pick guard as well. It's my benchmark / others come and go, but this is staying put!
NukeBass
I have one of these too, (albeit slightly modified with Lace pickups, BadAss II bridge and a black pickguard) - I absolutely love it and it's been my #1 'go to' bass for over ten years now...
