andytoad
Well, I sold my Hexavalve to a lovely fella from Belgium. He met me at Dover port a really nice guy. He paid via bank transfer, however, it came out £6 short, I didn't mind. We meet up and low a behold, he has brought some traditional locally brewed beer as a gift! I had one last night, absolutely beautiful beer! Sweet, light with plenty of head. 9% mind, so I only had 1 (he gave me three 75cl bottles). It's been said before, but some really top people on BC, a great community to cherish! Cheers Olivier, enjoy the amp!
Chiliwailer
A very lovely fella from Spain bought a Modulus Flea from me a few years back. He was so pleased that he then sent on 6 bottles of absolutely gorgeous Spanish red wine. You don't get that on Gumtree or eBay
Dood
Totally agree, I've ended up having some epic chats with folk in strange car parks whilst exchanging bass gear. BassChat is full of some very cool people. Anyone toting local beers gets my vote

We spent ages gassing on in the car park at Wetherby services as he had turned up in a vinyl roofed Mk2 Escort. I was in a considerably newer, but still old (17 years at the time) MR2 Turbo. leftybassman392
I've had some great conversations at motorway stopovers, lay-bys and flyovers while buying, selling and exchanging gear. IME nothing quite matches meeting the person you're trading with face-to-face. Ah, happy days!
police squad
yep, I've met up in many motorway services to do deals. Recently I sold my spector to a guy from Sweden who was touring here. Always a pleasure to meet the buyers and sellers

ProfJames
Bought a two month old Fender American jazz in Tesco's car park from a guy who was ill with cancer and unsteady on his feet, several hundreds of pounds in cash on me. He looked nervous as I am fairly big with short hair but we soon got chatting! He emailed me a few weeks back to say he had recovered, great news. Wanted to buy the Fender back but I said no! Is there a moral in that story?!!
T-Bay
Another member and myself got a few funny looks at at MacDrudges last week when shifting a TE combo and cab between cars. Met some great people already and have another meet up planned for this Saturday for a new purchase/trade.
josie
I bought my first acoustic bass on eBay, and collected it in Wolverhampton train station car park from a cheerful young tattooed guy, with a good long chat about all things to do with bass guitars and tattoos. So maybe not only on Basschat
