Thunderbird Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Bum would be right up my alley but sadly I can't get there Quote
peteb Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) Would love to see that - don't suppose there's any chance that Neil could take the masterclass sessions on the road sometime and pass by West Yorkshire?? Edited April 28, 2017 by peteb Quote
verb Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I will be there, the pub is at the end of my road. Quote
Chris2112 Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Sounds good. Neil is a good lad and it sounds like an entertaining evening. I'd love to go. Quote
thebigyin Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 To far away but Neil is one of my favourite Bassists would of loved to have gone Quote
drTStingray Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) Did anyone from here go to this? I would have loved to - Neil Murray is one of my favourite bass players since I first heard/saw him in National Health in the 70s. Last saw him in the We Will Rock You musical and he was great in that as well. Edited April 30, 2017 by drTStingray Quote

visog Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 He also had the rather challenging role of dep'ing for Jeff Berlin with Bill Bruford's band... Caught on the OGWT here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrExNIyA3lk Quote
Chris2112 Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 Funnily enough, I bought a Cort Rithimic from Neil, which is Jeff Berlin's signature model. I didn't realise Neil had played with the Bruford band! Quote

I'm not much of one for demos and stuff but Neil comes across as a really nice bloke. *Yes, I know its Dave Stewart really. Edited May 2, 2017 by KevB Quote
arthurhenry Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 A great night. Neil talked a lot about his career and approach to bass and did a bit of playing. Pretty special to see him play his celebrated line from Fool For Your Loving, close up. Surprise revelation: Coverdale loves Weather Report! Quote
Conan Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Why do I always find out about cool things after they've happened? Not that I would have been able to get there on a school night mind... I hope there will be more, and in other parts of the UK Quote
