I like the line "I will accept £650.00" I bet he would! I am tempted to put my Thunder 3 fretless up for sale with a "will accept a 1957 Precision as a direct swap!" Bassassin
Comedy pricing on old Thunder 1s comes up regularly. Ebay's full of dreamers with £300+ BINs, but a quick look at sold items makes it clear that they typically sell for £120 - £180. Same as it ever was... kodiakblair
Meddle's right about the Reverb thing but Reverb mainly carries ads for American shops and no American would ever dream of just paying the asking price on used goods, unless it was extremely low.Hell even on new stuff they want to haggle. Reverb prices are sky high to reflect this, and so the buyer can "cut a deal" and feel proud of his hardened business skills.
Bassassin
Anyone interested in a potential bargain Thunder 1-A might want to keep an eye on this: http://www.ebay.co.u...ar/282455983883
JoeEvans
On the same theme, there's an early 80s Tokai Hardpuncher on eBay now for £1300. Currently only one picture, which isn't actually of the bass that's for sale.
Roger, you aren't thinking of selling or trading your beloved are you? Chancer or not, I don't know. Sometimes we sell at what we feel it's worth and not what others feel it's worth (nearly put otters there!). I believe my JV is worth a grand plus. Thats based on, what I could buy the equivalent for the money I could sell mine for. To be honest, even at that price I don't think I could get anywhere near the same quality Precision. That's my perception, right or wrong. Or, there's other folk who don't have a clue! Edited May 8, 2017 by itsmedunc

Went for £97, pretty good score for whoever got it.
