Just watching an acoustic session featuring Frances Black on Irish channel TG4.The bassist is using what seems to a carbon fibre single cut electro acoustic bass.Looks quite nice.Anyone seen one before.Excuse the pic.

Ballix! I took the pic in portrait mode,Sorry.
K.K you may have nailed it right away.Good show.A nice looking bass if a little large but that may have been because the bassist was a bit wee.

Looks interesting.

Physics implies that an acoustic bass should be large to properly create low frequencies at a useable acoustic volume. So we have developed a completely new ergonomic shape that is 30 per cent larger than our previous model, yet feels more comfortable to play.

Finally, we have created an acoustic bass with gut-rumbling low frequencies produced at a volume loud enough to compete in any acoustic jam session.

Wouldn't mind putting that acoustic volume claim to the test. I know some very heavy handed guitarists...

It certainly does look a bit hefty right enough, but it's very deep so I can imagine its quite loud acoustically. But where is the sound hole?

PS So thats James Blennerhasset? Heard of him many times in Irish folk music, but never actually set eyes on him before.

The Bubinga one is a thing of beauty. Guessing they will not be cheap by any stretch though.
Edit: from 2000 dollars, about 3-4000 dollars specced up, still nice though
