Go to a pro' for a valuation/advice. If you think the bass and guitar world is a minefield as far as valuations and so on go, it's nothing compared to the violin world.

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I've now done. I now need to decide if I sell as it is, or spend a bit to restore, and then sell for much more?
