It's just the bands that came out of the desert scene that happened in the early 90's in So-Cal, Doom is another style entirely imo.

It was a posting in Qatar that got me back into playing. We were playing to a bunch of mostly Redneck oilmen, so our version of desert rock had quite a lot of CCR, Sweet Home Alabama and some Eagles (Aggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
