LiamD
Selling my Hiwatt Bass 100, 100 Watt head. I believe it was made in the early 80s, it's in good condition with a few marks in the tolex as you'd expect. It's been well looked after in the time I've recently had it, have had new tubes fitted and re biased amd the amp itself cleaned and serviced. It's got plenty of power through a 4 or 6x10, I play in a pretty loud band and I've never not had enough headroom. Although it only allows switching between 8 and 16ohm loads, it is perfectly fine to use with a single 4ohm cab. I checked with Alex at barefaced and they guys at EMS when I had it serviced, both said it was fine as a 1:2 mismatch on a class A tube amp is fine. So as long as it is set to 8ohm it will run perfectly. My barefaced six10 is 4ohm and has been running lovely for a year or two with no problems at all. The other way round 4ohm into 8ohm or trying a lower impedance cab on a solid state amp would cause damage yes, but not on class A tube as long as the mismatch is not extreme. I'm happy to ship it if required, or deliver for fuel money. Comes with a roqsolid black cover with white piping. Matte_black
I had one, sold it to a german guy. Awesome, awesome amp. But mine worked with 8 and 16ohm loads, so maybe was a bit different from this one?
LiamD
I've had to pop out tonight after work, so haven't had time to take photos etc. Will do as soon as I can, I've added a photo that I have on my laptop.

dodgnofski
I had one from the early 70's to the mid 80's - never missed a heartbeat and my fave ever sounding amp type bump!!
Aero71
So this amp cannot be used with a single 4 Ohm cab or ...?
Matte_black
Nope. I had the same amp... it only works with 8 and 16ohm loads. But you can rewire the cab to 16ohm if it doesn't have a complete crossover inside.
LiamD
You can use it with a single 4 ohm cab. It's a tube amp so as long as the impedance isn't higher than the output and it isn't drastically different it is fine. I checked with both Alex at barefaced and the guys at EMS when I had it serviced and they both said it is fine to run with my single 4 ohm barefaced 6x10 as long as it is set to 8 ohm, which I have been for about a year.
