Ruck
I was thinking of saving money by buying a white scratchplate thats already cut the way I need it for my specific precision bass and leaving it in the sunshine to age. How many weeks would I have to wait for the white to mellow?
arthurhenry
Ask a heavy smoker to leave it in their house.
geoffbyrne
Longer than you think - I used to work in the rag trade in the dyeworks side & we used to send samples to Singapore for sun exposure - it was reckoned 12 weeks there equaled about 2 years here. ambient
How about soaking it for a while in some very weak tea?

Ruck
Its a scratch plate, just put it on the instrument.
But it must be a certain shade of piss before I put it on. Yes Parchment is the name they use on WDmusic. The White is too garish for the Shoreline Gold finish. Ill try the tea approach! yorks5stringer
In the unlikely event we don't get 12 weeks of sunshine you could try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSboSy3IsvM

JoeEvans
Take it to the tanning salon and bung it under a UV lamp for a couple of days.

RhysP
If you're having the scratchplate custom made anyway then just get it reliced how you want it.
