dannybuoy
Always wanted to try one of these, so this is tempting! Specs look like it has a J-width nut this time too, even better. http://www.epiphone.com/News/Features/2017/Ltd-Ed-20th-Anniversary-Jack-Casady-Bass-Outfit.aspx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfALj52cVow
Bass_Guardian
That looks sweet!
hookys6stringbass
This is the colour I've been waiting for... beautiful!! I'm not sure it is a J width...I think it's a mistake...
dannybuoy
Probably - the blurb says 1.6535" and the table below it says 1.5"! Doesn't look narrow in the pics.
fftc
All the others have been wider so can't see why they'd change now. Still fancy one of these but the cherry isn't doing it for me.
KiOgon
Oh my! Yes please, that's sweet & I don't even play these days
Cat Burrito
I thought it looked great. I like gold top finishes but I never went wild on the finish on the original JC bass. I wound up selling mine on. This is much more up my street, although because I have the Hofner verythin long scale bass in cherry, I wouldn't entertain buying one myself. A hit for me though. edited for mistyping hit as bit! Edited May 11, 2017 by Burrito
hookys6stringbass
I wonder how much these are going to be...???
Root45
I'd factor in the cost of a better bridge. No individual string height adjustment on the Epi Bass Bridge
goingdownslow
Wish they would cut down those oversized headstocks.
TheGreek
I bought a JC after playing a Chowny at the LBGS - really liked the Chowny. The JC? Not so much...sold it on fairly quickly. There's a much bigger colour range with the Chownys too - the green burst is luverly...
FinnDave
I am so tempted by this, but I if it really has a narrower nut, that MIGHT put me off. I pay Jazz basses, but prefer my Precisions and JCB. The chunky neck is an integral part of the character of these basses for me.
neepheid
I highly doubt that they've changed the neck specifications. It's made to Jack Casady's specifications for 20 years and suddenly he/they decide that the neck's too chunky? Seems unlikely considering how involved he was in the design and how he's been using them professionally ever since.
neepheid
This bass is so lovely to me that for a fleeting moment I considered selling up all my other basses so I could collect a JC Sig of every finish which has been made available. Then I gave myself a slap. This one is neat looking though, I might be tempted to grab one just for the anniversary-ness of it all to sit next to my oh-so-sparkly blue royale one. FinnDave
The chance of one of these red ones arriving here to keep the gold top company is pretty damn high!
basskit_case
The anniversary basses are now in the shops, Andertons and GAK have them at £599. Same price as the standard version, surprised at that considering the bits and pieces you get with it. Anybody got one?
FinnDave
That does look good in red...but much as I love my gold Casady, it doesn't get played often, and I've bought too many basses already this year! But...red...hmmmm.
LewisK1975
I'm pretty sure that's a 1.65" nut.
