bassmonk Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 So I had a big birthday a couple of weeks ago. Just getting round to posting the pics of the cake my friends made for me. Unfortunately the real thing didn't arrive from Music Man in time.. but I should be seeing it in a few weeks. It probably won't taste as good as this one. SICbass Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 (edited) How very excellent, and the best bit is having friends that would go to all that trouble for you. A belated happy birthday. Edited May 15, 2017 by SICbass Quote
SpondonBassed Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 (edited) Impressive. Belated congratulations. I like that there are real strings with which to floss teeth immediately after cake consumption. Very well considered. Edited May 15, 2017 by SpondonBassed Quote
dmccombe7 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Brilliant. Great idea. Wish i was there for a slice of that. As i wasn't invited can you just send the real MM to me at my usual address Happy belated birthday Dave Quote

geoffbassist Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Wow! That's the best cake I've ever seen! Happy Birthday :-) Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Cake and musicman what's not to like! Happy birthday, I'm not far behind you Quote
bassmonk Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Thanks everyone for the kind comments and birthday wishes! Yes - I have wonderful friends. I understand it took many hours to make. But it tasted as good as it looks! All the best to those of you who will be turning the same corner very soon Drop hints now about bass cakes! Quote
xgsjx Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Good to see they made an edible neck too. Many who try & make bass or guitar cakes use a real neck, which is a bit lame. Wonder if the real Stingray will have a "40" on the side? Quote
SICbass Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017
bass cakes!
Surely that has all the makings of a username. Quote

ZilchWoolham Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Very impressive! Did it have a buttery biscuit base? Quote

There's definitely a marketing opportunity there.. "New addition to our spring range - The Buttery Biscuit Bass" - but which manufacturer would be most likely to make it? Quote

Will you still need me, will you still feed me? Quote
Greg Wallace and John Torode's TV shows were sampled by Shaun Keaveny of 6music's breakfast show. The presenter uses the sound bites to punctuate his routine and sometimes it's laugh out loud funny. Favourite quotes are "Stop! Stop touching it." and "That piece of meat had everyone confused". http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/bbc_6music Edited May 17, 2017 by SpondonBassed Quote
