EHX Hog on Bass - anyone use one/thoughts/experience

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've seen a few vids on these being used on bass. Looks pretty cool for adding some synth padding.

Anyone any experience with it?

Is it easy to use in a live situation?

Recommended? Better alternatives?

Do you need the additional controller?

Do you need the expression pedal?

Cheers

I use it and I love it. Acknowledging the demand on pedal board real estate this is probably my favourite pedal even with the Expression pedal and patch switch - is essential. very transparent, all the range you'd want and great tracking, very sweet filter and few other effects that complement the main functions well - mod/freeze. I'll try get a vid done but it'll not be soon as I've got a few canvases drying out in the man cave.

Dave Hollingworth (Toska, Dorje) uses one. A bit of noise here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXbqPlhgwQU

It works great on bass. I've got one, but mainly wanted it for the octaver, I soon realised it was overkill for what I do. But it's really nice if someone puts its many features in use. Great potential for lots of interesting sounds, and good tracking.
