yorick Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 (edited) Apparently Chris Cornell has passed on at the age of 52. Never the greatest fan, but his bands always produced some quality music. Will be missed. Edited May 18, 2017 by yorick Quote
ezbass Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Just heard this on the radio, he was just 52 http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/chris-cornell-dead-soundgarden-audioslave-aged-52-a7742046.html Quote
Daz39 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Holy c&&p! Awful news. Loved his voice. His solo works were a bit so so but his work with Soundgarden and Audioslave was epic. What a loss! ;( Quote
leschirons Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 It's sad when anyone dies unexpectedly but this is also a serious loss to music. One of the best rock voices ever and my current fave. Quote
j1mu5 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 52 that's no age at all. I really liked Audioslave, a real loss. Quote
HazBeen Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I am sat her with tears running down my cheeks. Soundgarden was one of the bands that helped me through some difficult years as a teenager and he is high up on my all time fav rock vocalists lists. His last tweet was 8 hours ago, saying he was back in Detroit Rock City and he was on tour. Really wonder what happened, pretty sure he was off the drugs but maybe his heart failed or so. Quote

Bigwan Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Often imitated, never equaled. He'll be sorely missed... Quote

I was privileged to see him in the last year in his solo tour and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Thoughts to the family Quote
Cuzzie Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I did not see this and started another thread Mods please merge if you can We were privileged to hear his like. Quote
Sammers Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Terrible shame, at only 52 too! He was 1 of THE voices in rock, of any generation. Can't imagine what his familys is going through! Quote
Musicman20 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 What?! Are you kidding? I don't get chance to listen to much music in the mornings as I'm in a rush. Guess what I had on? Black Hole Sun....and last night I was looking into rotary pedals for the amazing tone they get on this song. This is crazy. Totally out of the blue. Quote
bluesparky Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Gutted, massive soundgarden and Audioslave fan. Quote
Musicman20 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I've had their vinyl reissues in my basket on Amazon for a while and guess what, the prices have just jumped up....not sure how I feel about that. Sad news. Quote

Musicman20 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 ....apparently he had only just played a gig a few hours before. Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Totally pissed off at this one! His new solo stuff sounded really good to me, properly shocked Quote
Stance Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Just heard the news .... I'm in shock (to say the least...) Huge CC fan since Temple of the dog! Just can't believe he's gone.... Now, he and Andrew Wood can continue to be roomates up in the Olimpo..... RIP Quote

Barking Spiders Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Yes, I was more than gobsmacked to've just read that in the online Guardian. Soundgarden were the only band from the grunge scene i like, definitely a cut above.Saw them a few years ago playing Brum. A quality. live act. . Quote
