ikay Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 +1 I have a hipshot piezo bridge in one of mine and that's grounded. Quote
Saved Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 Thank you for the answers guys. One more.Is it possible to take out of phase signal? Its not my goal, just wanna feel sure that i will not do any stupid thing Quote
ikay Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Yes it is possible for the piezo signal to be out of phase with the mag pickup. The blended piezo+mag sound will usually sound somewhat thin and weedy if they're out of phase. Most piezo buffer circuits have a phase reversal switch to cater for this. How are you mixing the piezo and mag signals, do you have some sort of buffer circuit or preamp onboard? Quote
Saved Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 I dont know if i mix them or if i will use one at a time. The good thing is that i have a mixing console,so i can mix them with that. Just experimenting still. One option is to use a blend control after piezos vol-tone circuit. I dont know if it will work Quote
ikay Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Piezos and mag pups generally don't mix too well unless they're buffered but if you're using separate outputs that gets round that problem. Have fun experimenting! Quote
Jabba_the_gut Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 John East does a module for blending mag and Piezo ( MPM-01 I think). Cheers Quote
