tonyquipment Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Found these neat little tuners https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.pinterest.com/amp/pin/574209021223310194/ Will it work on bass though? They are like thumb screws but I quite like the neatness of it. Especially on a precision ! 😁 Quote

LiamPodmore Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 No comment regarding the tuner, but anyone who like gear porn should follow Patrick Hufschmid on any of the social media sites of your choosing. The work that fella does is incredible. Quote
bazzbass Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 guitar tuners generally aren't strong enough to handle bass strings. But there really is only ONE way to know for sure...... at worst , if they don't suit, you could put em on a six string , after buying two more, of course. Quote
SpondonBassed Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 (edited) They'll be fine for a piccolo bass. While I like a nicely turned knurl, I wouldn't feel happy tuning this way despite the reduction gearing. It's just about okay on the direct pull tuners on a Steinberger bridge but even then I wish sometimes for more positive finger engagement that knurling simply does not give you. It isn't an issue on the Steinys so much because they're fairly stable and less likely to drift off tune. On a headstock however... Edited May 23, 2017 by SpondonBassed Quote
