Ampeg PF 500 - 8 ohms v 4 ohms cabs

Hi all, I am interested in anyone's experience of plugging an amp into a 8ohm and a 4ohm speaker at the same time. The ampeg pf 500 delivers the 500w at 4 ohms but it came with the 210he cab which gives 450w at 8 ohms. I'm interested to know if there would be any issues plugging in a 4ohm and an 8 ohm cab similaneously? I assume no, but always worth asking

Nope, dont do it. Either use two 8 Ohm cabs, or one 4 Ohm cab.

Using a 4Ω cab and an 8Ω cab at the same time (assuming that you're using both speaker outputs on the amp) would give you an overall impedance of 2.6Ω and would blow the amp.

If you're daisy-chaining one cab into another from [i]only one[/i] of the speaker outputs will give you an impedance of 12Ω (summing the cab impedances together), so you'd move more air, but the power output of the amp would be reduced.

No, unless there's an unusual arrangement with the speaker leads/wiring, it'll be a parallel connection (2.6 Ohm) just the same.
