Steve Browning
I have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable and productive 4 days at a studio near Sittingbourne in Kent. It is run by a guy who has built a barn to house the studio and amassed a whole host of lovely vintage gear (as well as up to the minute stuff too). You can record through an old Decca mixing console and play your bass through a lovely Portaflex. Loads of Hammonds/Leslies and a wonderful array of old drums Mike Thorne is a drummer). I have no connection to the place but have spent a lot of time in studios over the years and this one is head and shoulders above them all. Not only does Mike put you entirely at ease, enabling you to play your best but his partner also provides outstanding food for lunch. We stayed at an inexpensive self-catering barn type place locally and had a great time and I strongly suspect that the CD will reflect the experience. Check out Rimshot Studio near Sittingbourne. Excellent facility. http://www.rimshotstudio.co.uk/
spongebob
Looks great, only about an hour from me. Hopefully get the band in the studio for a new EP this year - just the rates that scared me [s]a bit[/s] a hell of a lot!
Steve Browning
It's not cheap that's true but it's great value for what you get.
