spinynorman
That went down like a lead balloon. So is the Spector market saturated by the Sound Control fire sale, or is that just a very unrealistic price?

I was one of the fortunate ones to get a Euro 5 so I am a happy chappy. On t'other hand it could just be general lack of money at the moment until we can all get our funds out of Iceland..... Had a look at Homer's ReBop a little while back and they are awesome basses. Good luck with the sale.
spinynorman
Hmmm - looks like the current going rate is more like £850. For which you do get a fancy finish. This is a man's bass in plain alder - we don't need no steenkin figured maple.

spinynorman
Hi, thanks for your interest. I was hoping to get more than £300 for it, though. I have actually got it up on eBay on a BIN/Best Offer basis and if nothing comes of that I'll probably keep it. But thanks anyway.
wrinkleygit
Best of luck with ebay,it's a shame there is a 140 mile drive between us for face to face haggling,if it doesn't sell keep in touch, mike.

But it's a much, much, cheaper bass than your budget would cover. Would you be potentially interested? It's a Rockbass Streamer Standard V. I'm nowhere near Devon either. wrinkleygit
Hello again, still pondering over your spector,it would seem that mint cond thro' neck 5's fetch around £480,so a bolt on in used cond has to be worth significantly less, also take off what you would pay ebay in commission & with a bit of haggling we may not be a million miles apart,if it doesn't make it in the auction send a PM thro the forum,I have a few days off work this week so collecting is not a problem, best of luck either way, mike b. A thru neck (i.e. Euro or US) 5-string would fetch at least £700, particularly as the new RRP is £1500. This bolt-on ReBop is, to my mind, realistically priced. Have a free bump! Bear in mind that said ReBop 4 does have some 'thumbrest damage/modification' though. I would say this ReBop 5 (with Aguilar pre-amp) is worth £400+. Bumping a great bass...
