Christine Mcvie The One Show

One of my favourite female vocalists Christine Mcvie was featured at the end of The One Show tonight singing Songbird.

It was pretty dreadful, all wobbly and pitchy, has she now joined at lot of the older great vocalists who are now shadows of their former selves.

Such a shame.

I have to agree.I was disappointed at her performance of that particular song.One of the highlights of 'Rumours'.Sad to see/hear.

Yes, it wasn't good, but you can't stop the march of time and still, she has a great musical legacy.

Just watched that on iPlayer. Yes a bit shakey but sounded more to do with not enough rehearsal than anything. Her comment at the end "glad I remembered it" said as much.

Not great, but she never had a strong voice. Great song though and a true legend. I remember her with Chicken Shack.

Didnt see the show but she sounded good in Leeds a couple of years ago.

I didn't see the show, but most people are a shadow of their former selves when they're getting on for mid 70's.

I didn't see it, but I'd take Christine on her worst day over the new batch of female singers. She had her own style and was one classy babe. Everyone has a bad day/poor song choice moment.

I didn't see it but did hear her on the Ken Bruce show yesterday morning doing the same song ....I thought it sounded pretty ropey then

I assumed it was just that she was singing so early in the day....maybe not!

Ouch! Such a shame, she had such a lovely voice! Don't the artists or their management or advisors actually get to the point when they realise it's probably time to call it a day?

Playing was beautiful, and she did write it, so two out of three ain't bad.

And I heard Elkie Brooks on the same Ken Bruce slot last week, and I didn't think she was any better.

I love the original recording of that song, so would rather listen to one of the new upstarts (without pitch correction) doing it. Her playing was good though.
