squire5 Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 This plaque is to be installed at Johns home in Stow-in-the-Wold. Quote
jezzaboy Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Nice. I think the plaques are a nice way of paying respect to a person or place that meant something in music. Quote
bazzbass Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I love how you poms honour your legends , should be more of it. Quote
FinnDave Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Stow on the Wold? Just down the road from me, never knew he'd lived there, thought they were all West London boys. Quote

Phil Adams Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I watched the youtube isolated bass track of "Wont Get Fooled Again" on Wednesday and was once again gobsmacked. Legend. Quote
Steve Browning Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I say this only to show how diverse people tastes (or lack of) are but I simply cannot stand to hear his playing. I appreciate my bank manager will take a different view. The plaque is, indeed, a nice touch and should be applauded. More of it, for sure. Quote
machinehead Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Very nice. I wonder when they'll be putting one on my house? Frank. Quote

[/quote] As far as I know it was a place called Quarwood just on the hills beyond Stow - you used to be able to see it up in the trees from the road to Stow from Cotswold Wildlife Park. Quote
chris_b Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 For a number of years JE lived over the road to me in Corringway, North Ealing, London. His American car was so long that when it was parked in his drive it hung over the pavement by a good 4 feet. He also pushed the kids up and down the road in a big pram still in his cowboy boots and long tasselled leather jacket. A very incongruous sight. Before that I believe he was in Gunnersbury Avenue. ahpook Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Well deserved. Non-bass-playing Mrs Pook saw this over my shoulder and agreed ! Quote

blue Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Nice, We finally put up a plaque by Lake Monona here in Wisconsin for Otis Redding. His plane crashed in the lake on December 10th 1967. Otis was only 26 years old. Blue Quote

It was called Acton County when John was there. When my wife went, the name was changed to Reynolds High School. It is now called Acton High School. Quote
