Do higher tension strings cause pain /fatigue in your plucking hand, been using Labella FS which I love, but after a three hour session I'm finding I'm waking up in the night with wrist pain, going to try some old TI flats to see if they make any difference, love TIs too so not so bothered about the change.

Yes - even though I play double bass a lot, DR flats on a bass guitar make one finger ache. They are actually pretty bouncy as flats go, but there is enough resistance there to make it an effort for a two hour gig.

Maybe work to relax your technique a bit more? 3 hours of physical excertion non-stop will strain any limb, good ergonomy is important. Make sure you hear yourself well enough so you don't have to force your playing any.
Perhaps slightly longer rest may help too. Good luck!

try setting your amp's volume a bit too high. Then you will have to play lightly, which will solve your problem.

In my previous gigging life I only had a TNT 150 so I was ALWAYS digging in just to be heard ,I got terrible cramps back then.

Some guesses:

I'd look at string height and technique before I'd blame the strings. Lower your strings and don't grip too tight.

How are you holding the bass? Try not to have sharp angles in either wrist. Don't over stretch your fingers when playing.

Are you playing regularly? Playing a lot but infrequently will cause problems. Play a little and often to build up strength.

I play most days and have a pretty light touch, I set my basses up with a 2mm gap at the 12th fret so reasonably low, we do practise pretty hard and do pretty much go straight through the three hours, I think I can already tell a difference with the TIs but will have a better idea when we practise again (once everyone is back from their holidays!)
