Spoke to Ian he agrees, it's too big a job for the day. Sorry..
That's OK - it just happens to be something I've got on the go at the moment. :)

(I might bring along my Partscaster and/or SG for a setup - space in car permitting!)

A couple of things...

Bass Guitar Magazine will be giving me some magazines to give away. So look out for those too.

And... does anybody have a Tonehammer 500 they can bring? I want to check it out (as I'm using one for NAMM and I've never played with one before)

- S
Can't help with a 500 but I shall have a 350 in the car if that's any help

I can also chuck the McMillen 12Step & DSI MoPho in the car if anyone wants a look at those. Hopefully the MoPho (never a more apt name when I came to use it last gig) will work. Wouldn't fire up at the gig but did the next day at home. Gig was outside and I think it may just have been flaky power, but was annoying all the same on the night.

Could add the laptop to show the 12Step running softsynths in poly, but that's a bit more involved and I could really do with upgrading the laptop as it struggles a bit sometimes hence my never getting round to using that live to date :)

Far Canal, that MoPho is pretty 80s-tastic ... an MTV 12" mix in a box.

It's great. I only really use one patch for the prog gig, but there's some corkers on there that I have used with a keyboard on disco/funk deps in the past

Quick bit of news on Workshops...

With a bit of help from Gary, a.k.a. cetera, I'm really pleased to say that Davey Rimmer (bassist for Uriah Heep) has stepped up and will give a 45 minute presentation on his career, gear choices, life on the road, Uriah Heep, Trevor Bolder etc and - if we ask him nicely - will maybe demonstrate a few tunes....

Thanks Gary and Davey - absolutely brilliant! :)
I hope someone records this session. Big Uriah Heep fan especially Gary Thain era but Trevor Bolder was 1st class too.
Pity i'm a little too far away.
Saw Steve Lawson at the Moffat Bass Bash few yrs ago and i've attached the recording i made. Really nice fretless material. Hope you enjoy him as much as i did. Quite funny guy too with good sense of humour.

There will be recordings galore of both Steve and Davey. ;) :D

Excellent Bluejay. Posted on here of course :)

That's turned out to be an amazing schedule there. Wish i was a bit closer.
Also noted quite a few using Mesa gear too. Think maybe i need to check the Mesa gear out.

Shame its too far for me as i have a couple of cheaper basses i could have sold you.
Epi Thunderbird and a Peavey Cirus Tiger Eye 5 string. Epi only worth about £100 and the Peavey probably not much more so it would be good for students to get use of them. The Peavey was new and never been out the house too.

It was a fix!
Aah, it was clever subterfuge on my part.

Well, while you obviously thought I was nipping out to check my car was locked, I did in fact travel a few hours into the future and found out what the winning number was going to be. I took my time machine back to 1976, had a quick chat with Herbie while he was doing the War Of The Worlds album and told him to pull out ticket #64 at the 2016 Bash Raffle. While I was there, I hung around for a couple of months, saw the Sex Pistols at The Screen On The Green (brilliant, by the way) and then made it back to the Bash before anyone there knew I'd been away. I'm surprised nobody realised I was actually wearing different trousers from those I arrived in.

I also bought back 23 1968 Fender Jazz basses that have now helped me in my dream of being mortgage-free.

It's all in the detail. Nik.
