Andertons have it on at about £190..

Demos are a bit iffy - some uninspiring squeelch-o-tones on offer. But looks worth a try.

Owner manuals and patch list up on the Boss site: https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/GT-1B_parameter_eng01_W.pdf

Looks like a good selection with the ability to change effect order.

Looks pretty comprehensive, a scaled down GT-10B by the looks.

Looking at the manual, this has way more models of bass overdrive/distortion, and also lots of bass amp models - as far as I can tell, the MS-3 has no amp modelling whatsoever.

Shame, as a combo of the FX from the GT-1B but with the patching/routing options of the MS-3 sounds like the perfect combo.

How does the GT-1B stack up against the Zoom B3n both in terms of effect sims AND usability (scrolling between patches, having easy access to banks of patches)? Seems to me that is where the head to head is in terms of price point. I'm guessing that the GT-1B may just edge it over the Zoom on effect sims but the B3n easily win in terms of being a user-friendly live pedal.

I agree. The B3n and the GT-1B have totally different work flow/usage designs, where ZOOM seems more suited to simplicity of "hands-on" editing on the unit and better switching layout for performance, while BOSS has the edge in features "under the hood" and a really slick software editor. Both nice choices if you ask me, especially at the price point.

Still seems like nobody is willing to touch the next level of mid-priced bass modelers for some reason. =(

So is this the end of the road for the ME-20B and the ME-50B? I've had both, many years ago. These two are ancient now and teh 50 is a generation behind the guitar version.
I found they were both ghastly especially the 20. I bought them after spending years gigging a Boss GT6 (guitar version) and loving it but I never found the bass stuff measured up.

Interesting that the GT-1B, like the B3n has eschewed the XLR balanced DI out. A cost issue, I guess and the fact that at this price point and target customer group it's not seen as essential.

What you talkin' 'bout Willis? The ME-50B was/is great. Solid useable sounds (apart from perhaps the 'synth' sounds), laid out like 3 analogue pedals, perfect :).
I only got rid of mine as it was a chunky unit, and I just didn't need the expression pedal. I'm hoping the MS-3 bass sounds are as good, and if the pitch stuff stands up to the Line6 M range, I'll be moving over to that (the MS-3).

Chap here demo'ing some of the presets...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7tf7AZLKFA&t=5s

Can't say I'm terribly impressed... I wouldn't rush to use any of them out of the box...

Hoping the unit is better when effect chains set-up to individual preferences.

Good (but brief) demo from Dawsons... shows off a couple of patches and the looper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwqwPsnvt0Y

I asked in Dawsons - in-store ETA in about a month (as of this post).

Think a few people have been waiting for this... a first comparison with the Zoom B3: https://www.youtube....h?v=qcnF4tub84U

Yes, and there should also be comparisons to the newer B3n, hopefully, especially since the quality of the amps, cabs and drive stomp emulations is much improved compared to the B3 IMHO...not to mention the B3n having improved footswitch navigation.

Yes agree with your B3n point. I'd also like to understand when I'd use the GT-1B and when the MS-3 would be better. Guess the answer is in incorporating external effects, although I'd hope you can do this with the GT1B to an extent.

Anyway some more info now up in the form of Boss's own 'Quick Start-up' videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/BOSSchannel/videos

In my on-going mission to post every page of the internet into Basschat, we have PMT's review of the unit which gets off to an iffy start but improves with some nice sounds on display.

What a horrible review!
No-doubt this thing is powerful, why can't these places actually employ a bass player to really look at the unit properly?!
