I need a new trolly.

I bought one from Maplins about 3 years ago. Unfortunately one of it's wheels fell off last weekend during a trip to Bath and Bristol for gigs.

It lasted amazingly well though, especially considering it's price. I've no idea how many hundreds of miles it's traveled around the country, it went with me to Paris even in April. Carrying everything from my double bass around London to my Markbass combo, to all my solo'y gear.

So, I'm on the hunt for a new one. I have slightly more to spend this time around, better quality, though I have to say there was really nothing wrong with the other one, I would like something slightly better built, and maybe a little larger, though it needs to be train friendly.

So suggestions please .

I bought a very good quality trolly from Homebase, approximately £20, to put my Ashdown 4x10 combo on, which weighed more than a collapsed star.

I was very impressed with it (the trolly that is, not the combo...)

I bought one of these many moons ago. I prefer this type rather than those tall sack trucks because it takes up very little
space when fold down.

Luckily I managed to find the nut that had fallen off, and managed to make an emergency repair.

There was a policeman on duty by Bristol cathedral, he helped me.

These are good trucks for hauling stuff around, although perhaps not so ergonomic when boarding or alighting from a bus/train/taxi..?

Yup, I have one like this - £18 on eBay if I recall. Brilliant for piling up lightweight gear, but I'm not happy sticking 90Kg on it. 40Kg is more like my largest payload, which is enough for my cabinets, amp and case of leads for sure.

The best type for any ground are balloon type wheels, as they just float across rather than try and bury themselves. Bastards

Anything with wheelbarrow type wheels works well on soft/gravel surfaces.. although I like the look of the balloon tyred trolley .
