I'm vegan, so would prefer not to have anything made of leather, and I don't like neotech straps, they're too stretchy and bouncy. It needs to be quite wide and padded, I play a rather heavy 7 string bass, it's something like 6.5kg. A lot of straps have the main part made of something animal friendly, but still have leather ends where the strap locks go. Any other vegan bassists? [/quote] I am not vegan so can't speak for all vegans by any stretch but I think the issue is the fact that animals are bred, kept in often poor conditions and then killed in often inhumane ways just to put a steak on the table so to speak. I don't think many vegans would see the short lives they have as an offset for this hence the veganism. It doesn't sit well with most meat eaters, but it's the truth (speaking from meat eating point of view it sits badly with me which is why I am careful where I source food and eat meat sparingly - I am just a crap vegetarian really).
