Peterv
hi! Has anybodyhere a/b tested the aguilar sl112 against the db112? I have an ssl112, its quality but a little light in push. I figured the db112 would have a little more on account of the heavier wood. One arrived yesterday but they seem pretty close. I like the weight of the sl112 of course. I suppose I'll have to crank it at a gig to really see. Has anybody had a knowledgeable experience of both? Thanks
acidbass
Loved the DB112, had a pair of them powered by TH500 and later a DB751 and they sounded ace. Worth the weight IMO - which wasn't overly heavy anyway, but may be a consideration for some.
Peterv
Thanks man, the sl112 has gone up in price, I think il sell mine and run with a pair of db112's.
gillento
I had both (2x SL112, 2x db112 and the db212) Whereas the SL has a definite bump in the hi mids and sounded a bit "hollow" in the low mids, both the db212 and 2x db112 are low mid monsters. They are far more "robust" in tone than the 2 SL112 mini stack. In fact the db212 is the cab I owned/ played longest of all my cabs.

Sparky Mark
I had the same experience with neo Bergantino AE112s versus their ceramic HT112ER and EX112ER cabs. The heavier ceramics just had more depth and power to their sound. Edited July 18, 2017 by Sparky Mark
