funkgod
Hello all, when i was playing, in my car chase, Acidjazz, funk band back in the day, we did alot of tv theme tunes, new avengers 2001 starsky and hutch and so went on a mission to find more of these great tunes One that i really liked was Barney miller. So i thought what a great topic, the more you get into this subject you realise how massive it really is Alot of the Orchestras and bands also did great scores for the porn industry, (dont tell me you have not heard some of these, and not thought... wow that music as tacky as f&%$ but yea..its funky) for eg the chap that composed the panorama theme tune also did the the music for the softcore porn film Emmanuelle 2. some info here... https://www.bbc.co.u...dc-c2e95fb99176 In amongst them fantastic bands and orchestras like The Laurie johnson Orchestra there has been alot of great bass players that have gone unnoticed and some unnamed so lets have them themes and if you can please also information on the bass players involved. My first submission is Barney Miller and one of my fave's the very talented Chuck Berghofer, great feel in this song. i think it has that jaco thing going on. try it, enjoy Info on Chuck https://en.wikipedia...Chuck_Berghofer http://www.notreble....huck-berghofer/ Chucks master class... well worth a visit. A great read. https://en.wikipedia...heme_from_Shaft the bass player was James Alexander who was bass player in the bar kays, Interesting also to see willie hall played drums on that track ( also from the bar kays) and of course the blues brothers.
