danbowskill Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) I am never in the habit of bigging up any big corp....But fender uk have done me a massive solid I scored a used fender super bassman from this lovely parish a few months ago and after a while it started developing issues (fuse constantly blowing when playing gig volume) and auto bias messing up. so i sent it to my local tech, He told me i had a arcing issue due to a couple of caps baring to much wire that he put down to manufacturing flaw. Not expecting much as the amp was pre owned and long past any warranty.....but i thought id give fender a try and see what they say in regards to a repair, They offered to collect and repair for free even though it had no warranty ,Excellent i thought and off it went :-) a few weeks later i got in touch (knew it would be a while till return) to where we are at , said they are waiting for new boards etc ......cut a long story short.......a week later a received a message saying its taking to long so they have decided to send me a brand new £2100 head instead! :-O Just arrived . Super impressed with Fenders customer Service. I didn't expect it to be so great ( i was ready for a battle) Well happy chap. goes to show if you don't try etc [attachment=248685:20170706_193336.jpg] Edited July 9, 2017 by danbowskill Quote
Cuzzie Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Fair play indeed!! Off to scour the classifieds for beat up amps in the hope of a new one!?! Well done Quote
danbowskill Posted July 9, 2017 Author Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) Hahaha , the old one did look excellent.....got to have a original build flaw though Edited July 9, 2017 by danbowskill Quote
danbowskill Posted July 9, 2017 Author Posted July 9, 2017 Cheers. The communication throughout was great , no qualms about anything . They accepted the issue was Down to their build. Also......it sounds the tits :-) Quote
wateroftyne Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 That's great stuff, and not what I'd expect of Fender. Good on 'em. Quote
markstuk Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 It's the level of service you really want to expect from a premium brand... Pity Mesa Boogie don't have the same attitude in the UK ... Quote
leroydiamond Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Terrific service for sure. After this, Fender might be inundated with a barage of dodgy jazz bass guitars that made it through QC over the years☺ Quote
thodrik Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 That is just beyond outstanding customer service. In fact it really goes beyond customer service considering it was a pre-owned unit. Well done! Quote

Conan Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 So in effect, you got a brand new amp for less than half price! Outstanding! Well done Fender, and well done you! Quote
danbowskill Posted July 11, 2017 Author Posted July 11, 2017 Cheers Conan....and yes, exactly that :-) Quote
bazzbass Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 that is great for you, but surely that is stupid business sense. Replacing a second hand unit with a brand new one? No wonder their stuff is so expensive lol. I have three Fenders and I'd rather they knock a few hundred off the price and stop doing these stupid deals. Quote

Kevsy71 Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Dan that's brilliant news! Really glad they sorted it. Quote
danbowskill Posted July 13, 2017 Author Posted July 13, 2017 At a guess maybe because it's their flagship amp that's only been around a few years or so , and any bad story's relating to their build/quality control ain't worth the hassle??.......either way it's a win for me ;-) Quote
