Not my taste in basses. I'm not a fan of distresse or worn basses to be honest. I like mine pristine. Dave Dave
MM Stingray 62
I like pristine basses as well but I think John is one of the best at what he does.I have a 66 jazz of his the one on his site it's one of the best jazz basses I've played IMO.But life would be boring if we were all the same don't you think. Sibob
Slightly odd relic'ing, never seen an actual vintage with that kind of wear......but other than that, looks cool! Si
Bass_Guardian
Don't like that relic'ing

Beedster
First impression was of woodworm. There is a school of thought that no two instruments age alike, and that it is possible that a real example looking exactly like this exists. But I doubt it. thebrig
My first thoughts was that it is a victim of the chicken pox that's doing the rounds at the moment
BassBod
Just needs a bit more paint to flake off in wear spots. It will, once it starts gigging.

Doesn't look real at all, may be the kind of distress you'd get on a well used kitchen table. Perhaps that is the secret, he's cutting the bodies out of old tables! alembic1989
Contacted them about that bass. He wants £1595. Not for me. To me that's a ridiculous price..but that's just me..I'm sure someone here will think it a bargain.
BassBod
Compare his price to UK retail on any Fender Custom Shop model. Relic might not be for everyone, but two of my regular basses are part Bravewoods, and they are the best parts!
acidbass
Having owned and played a Bravewood as my main axe for over 10 years now, I have to say I find that price very reasonable indeed. Quality basses.
