The D Man
Hi guys, I am currently getting a crackle/buzzing from all 3 knobs on my peavey milestone 3. I have read into it and I think I will replace all the pots myself. While I am at it I might as well change the output Jack. Am I right in thinking I need 2 tapered and one linear 250k pots, the linear one being the volume? Also is it worth putting in new capacitors? .022's? I don't know anything about this kind of thing but I'm quite excited about getting my hands dirty so to speak, and there's a lot of info online saying its easy
T-Bay
I don't know the Peavey so can't comment on which pots to go for but it sounds right. It is an easy job, just take your time to get all the solder joints nice and I would suggest swapping out one component at a time. If you can get the whole setup out onto a table it will easier still. It's very much within the abilities of even a beginner.
The D Man
Should I change all the wiring or is there no need?
T-Bay
It's worth doing if you have decent wire to replace it with.
The D Man
I can buy some. Whole thing shouldn't cost much. It plays nice already will new capacitors change the sound much if at all? Edited July 15, 2017 by The D Man
