Amp covers

Not sure if this should be in this section or not. I'm looking to get padded covers for my Head and Cab. The two companies to choose between are http://www.hotcovers.co.uk & [url="http://www.roqsolid.co.uk"]http://www.roqsolid.co.uk[/url] Who has used them, anyone used both, opinions on you experience with them?

Ive used hot covers for 7 or 8 amp/speaker covers. Great service, and a very nice product. good fit as well

Got a couple of Roqsolid amp covers (nowt fancy, just basic unpadded dust-covers), quality and fit are top-notch.

I've got two Roqsolid cab covers (unpadded). Great service, excellent fit and very good quality. Hotcovers doesn't list my MarkBass cab...

I prefer the aesthetics of the Hot Covers, and they look like they have more padding. However the Roqsolid ones are a lot easier to fold up if you need to tuck them away somewhere by the side of the stage, and the material seems like it would be more resistant to nicks and tears.

I have two of the RoqSolid and one Hot Covers. They're both fine but for the base level the Hot Covers one has a bit more padding. Also offers the opportunity for either a bit of amusement or a bit of a disaster as they tend to keep their shape when empty, so when you leave it in the corner inevitably someone will try to sit on it. On the other hand it's quite useful turned upside down with your coats, soft gig bags etc. stuffed in it at gigs.

I got a roqsolid cover when I bought my Rumble 500 combo. Lovely snug fit and it's kept the amp looking pristine. I went for the optional front pocket and cut a piece of hardboard to fit - for some added protection for the cloth grille. They are not cheap but worth every penny in the long term

Thanks for the feedback guys. So looks like most have R[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]oqsolid and even being a little less padded does the job well. Both companies got back to me with the info I needed but [/font][/color][color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]roqsolid were really fast and gave a discount code so I think I'll go with them. Having had both, was going to say Hotcovers > Roqsolid but it looks like your decision has been made!

Hot Covers for me. Had Roqsolid but they began falling apart after about a year of heavy touring.

Ive also had wear with Roqsolid, thick padded cover worn through in about 2 years where ot rubs against my leg while carrying from car to gigs... On a BB2. Not impressed, i notice official Barefaced covers are made elsewhere now

I've had both. Found Hot Covers to be slightly better made/sturdy, but more expensive. Your choice.

Think after the additional comments it might be Hotcovers. The price works out about the same give or take £5.

Roqsolid for me to. Been using them for several years on many different amps & cabs. Recommend them.

The padding at Hotcover is 10mm whereas it is 5mm at Roqsolid, when selected as an upgrade to their "dust covers"
Prices on the roqsolid website do not include VAT. So in the end the price gap is not that big.

I've used roqsolid and found them very good. Once I settle on my amp and cab combination I'll probably go back for more. My amp head, however, lives in an old laptop bag which seems to be up to the task.
