warwickhunt Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Unusual in as much as the back of the bass appears to be flame maple when you generally get plain Alder (or is it Ash) with the veneer/sandwich models; it is more like the early Euro models that had solid Maple wings... nice!
The grain has come through really well on the photo and i can't say i have noticed it in natural daylight before. You could be right with it being a Euro4 as Alder is normally used on the 4LX. Im pretty sure the CRFM also had full maple body but cannot recall if there was any sandwiching going on with them....methinks some research is required or i might just zing a pm over to PJ at Spector with the serial number.

fretmeister Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Wow! That is amazingly light for one of these. I've got someone coming to see my Les Paul tomorrow, if it goes I'll be in touch.
warwickhunt Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017
3.5Kg
EXCEEDINGLY light! I've owned five of these basses (LX, Euro and a USA) and none have been less than 9lb (not much over mind and not a lot of variation).
