Ibanez Prestige sr5005

Need some help, I got this bass earlier this year and there's a horrible buzz which stops with a pop when I touch the hardware, and there's a scratching when I play up and down the neck. It's been back to the store and the distributer. Is this normal?!

Grounding problem, should get sorted with an electronics overhaul. Quite how it's been back to the the store and the distributor and still has the issue I don't know though, does it not happen at their locations?
If it does, and they're not fixing it, they should give you a new bass. If it's not happening at their locations, but at all locations with you.....could be a problem with your cables/amp etc.

It happens on each of my amps, and through protools regardless of cable, and my ltd basses are absolutely fine. And the ibanez has also been tested at my guitarists house where the problem continued

Check ground connections to any meta pickup cover / body of pots etc.
Is the pickup cavity / control cavity screened - Aluminium or Copper or 'Black' conductive paint ?
If so then check continuity from screening to output jack connection ( can be difficult with the paint so check visually too.

Yeah it's the same in active or passive, the switch itself males the buzzing worse when you touch it

really sounds like some kind of ground is missing somewhere, and on a bass of that standard I would have thought the store / distributer should replace it without a second word, its not a budget instrument.
