Grantd Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Anyone have an experience with one of these (Marleaux Soprano) or an extra short scale bass? Quote
TheGreek Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I was looking at something along these lines recently - but this is scarily expensive. Have you considered one of these: http://www.buzzardsfieldukuleles.co.uk/store/p21/Friston_Solid_Electric_Bass_Ukulele.html I was thinking about modifying the body shape to something more pleasing on the eye. Grantd Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 The marleaux is very pricey that's why I was wondering. I'm not sure about the rubbery strings on the u-bass options. In a nutshell I'm looking for a portable bass that I travel with (on a motorbike) that doesn't have rubber strings. I don't mind using an octave pedal. Quote
TheGreek Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Something like this?? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/300104-finished-pics-petes-piccolo-bass/page__st__150 Quote
Grantd Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Ideal! but not readily available I suppose. Quote

Grantd Posted July 21, 2017 Author Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) I don't know how seriously to take a Wing bass - is it a real instrument? Edited July 21, 2017 by Grantd Quote

[/quote] Yes Eubassix (David) of this forum, has owned a Marleaux Soprano which I got to have a little go of. It was tiny but really cool. Which was made just as well as the full size guitars. I shall pm him and alert him to the thread and no doubt he can give more info. Edited July 22, 2017 by Twincam Quote
Grantd Posted July 23, 2017 Author Posted July 23, 2017 Thanks, he just PM'd me which is great because I have just pulled the trigger on a maple Soprano with ash body. Can't wait for it to arrive. Quote
Grantd Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 I believe it should be ready at the end of this month. Quote

I tried one at the LBGS and really liked it. I also just got a wingbass which is superb. Look forward to seeing yours. Quote
Grantd Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 (edited) I saw that wingbass on your post, I was skeptical but it actually looks really cool. Edited August 21, 2017 by Grantd Quote

I have a Consat Custom and it's amazingly well built. Gerald and his team really know what they are doing. Quote
