After contemplating "unlining" a lined fretless, I decided to just get another bass with an unlined neck attached.

Warmoth Unlined Jazz Neck (heaviest weighing neck I've ever played)
MIM jazz body
Badass ll bridge
SD pups
Schaller machine heads

Nice! Did you get a good deal on the neck?

Bought the whole bass as you see it. I did get a good deal though.
The neck profile is deeper than I'm used to, but it's surprisingly comfortable. My first warmoth necked bass.

Ah ok I jumped to the conclusion you'd knocked up a bitsa yourself.

Understandably from my initial wording 😊
which I've since edited.

Apparently Warmoth necks are heavier due to 2 steel rods, never knew that until I did some research when I got the bass home. No neck dive though, and feels substantial & reassuring in the hand (ooh err), the truss rod adjusted easily & there are no dead spots or humps (quite unusual in my experience with some fretless necks).
Happy slappy here
