Machines Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Nice - a white pearloid pickguard and it's perfect. Quote
birdy Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I have seen/played this bass and its great. Considering the cost it's a match for a light of high end basses. The EBS preamp is pretty good too. Steve Quote

Would like to change this eventually for a 55-02dlx natural trans I think... but it will do for now! Edited November 3, 2008 by EBS_freak Quote
silverfoxnik Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Very nice! You don't often see Bill Lawrence p/ups on a Lakland; what are they like? My Roscoe Beck 5 has Bill Lawrence designed p/ups and they sound great IMO.. Quote
mike257 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 That's gorgeous! I'm plotting my perfect J-type for when the lottery win comes, and it's not far off that - but I fancy black blocks/binding/scratchplate against the white body/maple neck, think it'd be lovely!! Oh, and one less string Quote

I wouldn't say that they are the best by any means though. They kick the Nordstrands that were in it previously though... I found the Nordstrand stuff to be particularly dull sounding. These Bill Lawrence ones are very lively and go both deep and high. I originally wanted to put some barts in there but at the time, bartolini didn't make them in the required dimensions... they do now though - typical! Quote
SkinnyMike Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Thats a fantastic bass you've got there! i love white basses and this is one of the nicest IMO. I got a lakland jo5 with Lindsey fralins in it but im thinking about swapping them out for some Bartolinis. Quote

I've noticed that they do them in the right size now! Quote
SkinnyMike Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Nop I haven't changed them to the Barts yet. I would still love to but I just haven't got the time or money atm. Do you still have the Lakland? If so get some Barts in there and give me some sound clips Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Ha ha brilliant - I was going to ask you the exact same thing! One day... Although cheap Barts off eBay is a thing of the past now! Quote

EBS_freak Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 I keep saying it, white is the ultimate colour for a stage bass. You wait til you see the strap that I have order for it from the States. Its going to be bling as! Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Gold? Nah. Ok, not as bling as that... More classy... Quote
