bertbass Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I used Rotosound short scale strings when I had mine. I found it difficult to find anything else. Quote

(rebranded or otherwise) - Maybe ping the Uk distributor a call. Quote
Tim Chapple Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Yes - looks like Rotos are the best bet Quote
naxos10 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Talk to Neil at Newtone. I use his strings on my 30.75" short scale bases and he can offer different types and cores. I believe the Platinum range has a slightly higher string tension. Quote
casapete Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I've used D'Addarios for years on my Danos. EXL170S sets are great, 45-100 gauge. A lot better than Rotos, or anything else IMO. http://www.stringsandbeyond.com/dexnishscelb.html Quote
kodiakblair Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 I bought a set of Fender VI strings and just used 4 of them. £10.99 on eBay Quote
three Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I used to use D'Addario strings designed specifically for the Danelectro Baritone guitar - just the heaviest four (E-G) obviously. Very light but lots of twang and super-easy to play. They were fairly easy to find on ebay. Love Dano Longhorns - proper pop star bass Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I really like the LaBella 'danelectro' stainless steel flats I have on my longhorn - as they are specifically for danos, they're exactly the right length and the smaller ball-ends work perfectly with the bridge. They're also long-lasting - I've had the same set for over 10 years, so they were a lot cheaper than the current cost when I bought them.
