bertbass
I used Rotosound short scale strings when I had mine. I found it difficult to find anything else.

(rebranded or otherwise) - Maybe ping the Uk distributor a call.
Tim Chapple
Yes - looks like Rotos are the best bet
naxos10
Talk to Neil at Newtone. I use his strings on my 30.75" short scale bases and he can offer different types and cores. I believe the Platinum range has a slightly higher string tension.
casapete
I've used D'Addarios for years on my Danos. EXL170S sets are great, 45-100 gauge. A lot better than Rotos, or anything else IMO. http://www.stringsandbeyond.com/dexnishscelb.html
kodiakblair
I bought a set of Fender VI strings and just used 4 of them. £10.99 on eBay
three
I used to use D'Addario strings designed specifically for the Danelectro Baritone guitar - just the heaviest four (E-G) obviously. Very light but lots of twang and super-easy to play. They were fairly easy to find on ebay. Love Dano Longhorns - proper pop star bass
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I really like the LaBella 'danelectro' stainless steel flats I have on my longhorn - as they are specifically for danos, they're exactly the right length and the smaller ball-ends work perfectly with the bridge. They're also long-lasting - I've had the same set for over 10 years, so they were a lot cheaper than the current cost when I bought them.
