Tricky dat. World population is 7.5 billion and, unless I have a secret twin, none of them look like me. Could be a long thread!

I didn't realize you played lefty, everything else looks the same, dapper as usual.

Yeh, I asked Silvie to reverse it to correct the polarity, but being a lefty herself she downright refused.

Bloody difficult woman, that Silvia.

My avatar. The pic on the left is actually my great grandfather, astonishingly spotted by chance on some archive film footage from 1919. I don't look like him.

My avatar. The pic on the left is actually Winnie the Pooh. I don't look like him ;)

That's quite OK, of course, but on what archive film footage did you astonishingly spot him by chance? ;)

My wife says I don't look like this.

I used to look like this in 1987. Funnily enough, the bass looks exactly the same as it did back then but I,m 3 stone heavier and no longer have the one chin. :(

Think you may have quoted the wrong person. But if you're still interested, my great grandad was involved in supplying the army with horses in WW1, and resettling the few that were left atterwards. In 2014 a television station ran archive footage of the horse resettling, my cousin happened to be watching and recognised the old boy from a family portrait. I was able to record the footage and grab a still. I thought he might like a run out 100 years on so he's been my avatar ever since.

Note the winkey though. Twas Andy_L who followed your example but failed to follow your format. Hence my question. :)

Nice with the story about your granddad in any case!
I love those things.

I think that is a cracking story to have for the family table at Christmas reunions down the line. Very fortunate that it happened at all.

I am lucky enough to have grown up with my paternal grandfather in the house when I was little. I have a photo of the three generations - Grandad, Dad and me with a proper sulk on for being photographed in school shorts. To have found your great grandad's image when he was at work and in his prime is remarkable.
