Single String Bridges or Badass and Pickup Configuration

Hey guys,

I'm building a bass in after Christmas, and I'm at a bit of a lose for what bridge to get. Does anyone own/use/have used single string bridges? Are they More toneful compared to a Badass?
I have never played a bass with either on them.

Also what is the most toneful pickup configuration? I'm looking to use a Musicman in the sweet spot with either a P at mid, J at neck , or Soap bar at neck and i'm not to sure what would be the configuartion to get as much tone as possible.
