[i]Bridge:[/i] High Mass (identical to Gotoh 201)
[size=2][size=4][i]Scratchplate:[/i] Gold Anodised[/size][/size]
[size=2][size=4][i]Pickup:[/i] Hotrod “Thumper” Precision Bass Pickup[/size][/size]
[size=2][size=4][i]Electrics:[/i] KiOgon Solderless Wiring Loom, CTS Pots[/size][/size]

[size=2][size=4]Due to the 50’s scratchplate only having ten screws, one of them doesn’t quite bite into the body as it should do, so I have added a little piece of blu tack to help keep the screw in place, this can’t be seen as it is underneath the scratchplate.[/size][/size]

It plays and sounds great, particularly with the jazz width neck fitted, and you are welcome to come and try it out for yourself.

The neck on this bass is 38mm, I love precisions but I always fit jazz necks to them as I also find the P necks too wide.

[/quote]Thanks for the kind words Marc, I've put a fair amount together over the last few years, I just get so much pleasure sourcing the parts and then putting them all together, trouble is, I need to move some on so I can start all over again on a new project, and yes, I do usually lose money on them because I usually sell them for a lot less than I spent on on them. :unsure:

I've repaired a couple of basses - a new neck on an old 70's Japan, Matsumoko P bass
I was lucky to get the loaded body very cheaply. I ended up with a lovely bass, sounded great, felt nice to play
Sold it for a small profit (wish I'd kept the pickup though - sounded fab)

But you're right - put a nice bass together from parts, and made nowt on it
I can see how it's easy to lose money, building from decent components, sadly
Just had to look at this again though - it looks a lot like the Fender MIM '50's P - but a fraction of the price
Stunning colours & grain on that body :)
