Dropzone Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Has anyone found a good bag or box that they can separate their leads with. I am sick and tired of trawling through a million black cables just to find the wrong one ;-) Many thanks Mie Quote
Dood Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Or one of those bags for carry electronic drum kits that have several slots for the small pads? Quote
John_P Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Is this too big? chris_b Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I use a large laptop bag for leads, strings, tuner, screwdriver, other spares etc etc. Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 But the multi-pocket bag approach (bin there, dun that) is not the complete answer. Unless the pockets are all made of transparent material, you'll then need to memorize which pocket contains your main instrument cable, which has the patch leads, which has the kettle leads, etc. Quote
Dropzone Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 John P that is exactly what I am looking for. Brilliant. My strategy will be from left to right. Jack to Jack, Xlr to Xlr, Kettle, Every other kind of lead then hardware and the last slot for some marmalade sandwhiches. Many thanks I had searched under many different titles and not got this. John_P Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 No problem, I was looking for a similar bag for all my cables when I'm hiring out PA gear. If you get one I'd very interested to know what you think of the quality. Quote
Dropzone Posted August 3, 2017 Author Posted August 3, 2017 I must admit it looks of questionable quality but at that price, not too much of an issue. Quote
lee650 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Has anyone bought a bag suitable for Carrying an Auralex Gramma which would also fit a mike stand and guitar stands? Quote
Booooooom Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 John P and Dropzone - I've got one and it does the job perfectly for me. Organised by cable type, length etc and I usually keep an extension lead drum in there too. I always coil and Velcro secure my cables so never get any tangles. You can squash it lengthways so that everything is still organised and protected but takes up less space in the car/cupboard. I tend not to put other things on top of it and usually store it on its end so as not to crush it and potentially damage cables (after all, it's a bag not a flight case. Had mine for about 9 months now, it doesn't take a severe beating but it seems robust enough and I've no concerns over it falling apart 😀 Quote
Dropzone Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 Thanks Boom, I have ordered one, will be glad to not have to untangle as much spaghetti to only find it is the wrong lead. I must buy some more cable ties ;-) Quote
Cuzzie Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 https://www.fusion-bags.com/collections/sale fusion bags sale page - loads of great stuff and really sturdy bags. I use one of the DJ bags for my Darkglass amp and leads, speaking cables etc. you get the picture. It can fit loads of wha you need. I do use velcro cable ties to keep birds of a feather together Quote
prowla Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Delsey do some heavy duty plastic cases which I think are for make-up and suchlike, but they make great kit cases. Quote

Build quality is as cheap as you'd expect, i.e. pretty flimsy, especially the zips, but the design is absolutely fine and the size seems about right. I'll load it up with cables, use it for some gigs, and report back. Quote
Dropzone Posted August 8, 2017 Author Posted August 8, 2017 I have mine, I thought the build quality is fine but have yet to use it in anger. Just nice to have the separation and I am quite surprised to find out how many xlr leads I have!!! Quote
Dood Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Ask Roqsolid to make you something! They're highly regarded here on BassChat! Quote
Paul S Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 After a week of hockey cokey with Royal mail I finally got hold of one of these bags. It was worth the money just to sit down for a while and sort it out! Hope it lasts as it seems perfect in terms of what it does/size etc and not too heavy when full, either. Quote
