Happy Jack Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Bass-V-1-Start-Price-/122627315876?hash=item1c8d2858a4:g:ts8AAOSwS8xZfeEt So is it supposed to be a Fender? Or did he have it built as a custom copy of a Fender? And why has he made such a pig's ear of the dot markers on the neck? Quote
Hellzero Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 It's a Musikraft copy of a Fender V : it's written in the description. Here is the link to Musikraft who is making necks and bodies for quite a long time now : https://www.musikraft.com Hope this helps. Quote

Beedster Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 In his defence however, he has had the instrument referred, which is probably a good thing. Quote

Grangur Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 (edited) Credit where it's due. It looks like the body, neck and all components are from a good source. You have to really work at it to make a start like that look like an Encore-level item; and boy, has he done well at it. Mind you: Small body + 5-in-line tuners = possible serious neck dive? rushbo Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Maybe it's the angle of the camera, but the "G" string is barely on the fretboard... Quote

dlloyd Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 The bass V is quirky enough for me to want one for novelty value... but at £102 it's already gone over what I'd pay for an original. But they typically go for £3k or more. This one looks okay-ish as a copy... most originals have block inlays but the few that do have the 12th fret dots much closer together (and symmetrical). If the nut was recut and the stickers cleaned off, it might be nicer. Quote
yorks5stringer Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 They forgot to mention it was gigged at 'The Ivy'... Quote
