Dood Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Just another tool we can use. As I often say: if I thought that playing bass with a kitchen utensil would create the sound I want, then I would. Quote
Dood Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017
But as with any gear, it should be used as an addition to your technique, never a substitute! Si
Haters gonna hate whatever, so I say: "Be proud and say that it's part of your technique." I choose to use this tool and I don't give a crap if people don't think I'm a great bassist. They're probably right anyway, but I'm enjoying myself. Quote

You should be in the dictionary under 'awesome' Quote
mark76 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Did the OP really mean to write thugs in the title? Quote

pmjos Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Yeah. I didn't get these either until I had to do a line which required tapping and slapping in close succession. You can't mute unlness you have 3 hands. It just knocks out the back harmonics and keeps the sound cleaner. I wouldnt use it in general but it just a neck mute instead of a bridge mute. Quote
bazzbass Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 I have one on my Jazz, but apart from eliminating some "finger on new rounds" noise when recording, it doesn't do much else, apart from get people asking me "what's that hair bob thing?" hehe Quote
Basskleftiko Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Thanks Delberthot, for your response to the "hair bobble" thing. I have been playing bass with my fingers for a similar number of decades and have never needed anything else. Amen! Thought I had fallen into a coma and missed something. Lol :-) Quote
crez5150 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 You could always use one at each end ;o) Quote
Basskleftiko Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 I like to keep an open mind so I'm going to try attaching one of my wife's hair ties to a bass when I get home. Quote
mancunianfox Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Intrigued to try this to. Thug life. Quote
