Pinball
Farida D-5212E Steve Hacket. An amazing high end spec instrument from those talented guys at Farida who produce many fine models for the major companies. It is a real exlusive as there were only 25 made and it's list price was just shy of £800 when new. It knocked the spots off the opposition at the time. It is a really nice easy playing 12 stringer that my wife bought me a few years back. I play mainly bass guitar now. Any trial welcome. The sales spiel: Created for the legendary Steve Hackett of prog-rock icons Genesis, the Farida D-5212E is an impressive 12 string dreadnought model which sits nicely at the top end of the Farida line-up. Used by Steve live, this 12-string is yet another Artist Designed model that will live on in the history books, as it is a highly limited edition run of just 25 pieces. The Farida D-5212E was thought up by using the awarding winning D-52E as a base model and adding some of Steve’s favourite elements. As a 12 string player for a number of years, Steve knew what he wanted and we delivered. There’s all solid-wood construction, using a solid sitka spruce top partnered with solid African mahogany back and sides. Both of these parts, and indeed all of the woods used on this model, are high-graded and therefore of the utmost quality. This means this guitar just doesn’t look good, it sounds amazing too. One of Steve’s essential requests was the inclusion of his favourite electronics system, the LR Baggs Element. We obliged, of course, and the result is incredible amplified sound. By using extremely sensitive parts this system is highly delicate, in a great way, to dynamics. This makes sure you have the truest sound possible that’s perfect for playing live or even quick and easy recording. The rest of the Farida D-5212E lines up just as well, with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard combination, a classic which provides serious comfort, especially considering that this is a 12-string guitar. D’addario strings feature too, the top choice for many players across all musical genres. The small details have been given just as much attention too, providing a luxurious feel. There’s a bone nut plus a 3-ply Ivory/Black/Mahogany binding. Although those features might not be the first thing to catch your eye, they really polish the whole experience off well.
