1978 Jazz Bass (or is it??)

Is this a genuine 78 fender jazz? I'm no expert at all but the headstock looks slightly too new, and the truss rod bullet looks wrong.

Fake or worth a flutter?

What's the story with that trussrod bullet though? Did fender make ones like that, or is it some kind of extension? It looks from the pictures like it doesn't have the recess like a fender neck normally has.

From '75 on Fender started using bullet trussrods on jazz basses untill I believe end 70s.

Cheers, it just doesn't look like others for sale I've seen for the same period. Ie looks too big and fills the bullet recess completely, but it's probably just a replacement truss rod nut I guess.
