Guy Pratt - Edinburgh Fringe festival August 14th-28th

Guy Pratt is bringing his one man show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival from August 14th - 28th (day off on 21st).

And, it's FREE !!!!

5pm each evening.

Frankenstein venue.

Guy will be telling tales of his life on the road and studio with Pink Floyd/ David Gilmour, Bryan Ferry, eye.

He'll also be playing bass, and a bit of 6 string guitar.

He did when I saw him at the Fringe 9 or 10 years ago, so it's quite probable.

Cheaper than last time ( ) so I might go along...

Don't go to one of the early shows. Last time I went to see him at the Fringe it was the first show of his run. He was so nervous, I thought he was going to be sick.

Go to one of the later shows. By then he'll have got the hang of it and be a lot cooler and calmer.

He told this tale at both appearances at the LBGS and on a much posted YT video...I could probably tell it, word for word, myself.

Yeah his show is a bit dated but there are plenty who haven't heard his Staying Alive joke and so forth I guess.

That is the way of the one man show.

I haven't seen it yet. I may never see it given that Derby lost a big venue to fire three years ago and the signs are that we will not have it replaced for another four years!

Saw him at Salisbury a few years ago. Really enjoyed it, very relaxed & fun evening.

Saw him do his show in Brighton earlier this year, know his book very well, was a great night and what a great player!

Went along to today's show. I really enjoyed the show and it was a nice wee day out overall - I've never ventured through to Edinburgh during the Festival before. I bought a copy of his book which he kindly autographed!

Looking to catch one of his shows at the tail end of next week. Have seen Guy a couple of times in the past, but don't really care if it's the same stories and jokes or not - his playing is sublime, and that's more than enough for me! Looking forward to it.

I caught the show last Monday - great fun, and am planning to see it again on Sunday 27th.

Fringe virgin alert
I see the gig is free , how does that work ?
I realise I don't have to pay any coin for it but I've seen other gigs for free , will this mean I have to queue for an hour and a half to get into them.
HID and lurksalittle have s long list of shows that they want to go to , and some we have already booked , but some of the comedy stuff I am up for fall into the 'free' category , TIGHTARSE I hear you cry , but no, I would rather buy a ticket than queue all day !!

Queuing for Guy's show starts about 15-20 mins before the gig. Well worth going to see it, and if you haven't read his book - grab a copy as it's great fun.

Free = pay what you feel is right in the collection bin at the end of the gig. If that's nothing then fine. I bought a book. My good lady put some money in the bucket.

There were plenty who didn't do either
