casapete Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I see that DV247 are currently doing these for £829, which seems like a cracking deal. Not my kind of thing unfortunately, but for those who love 'em ......... http://www.dv247.com/guitars/gibson-les-paul-standard-bass-guitar-heritage-cherry-sunburst--227064?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4OWQo8_U1QIVBb7tCh2gfQMuEAQYASABEgIu2fD_BwE Quote
Lozz196 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 That`s a seriously good deal, they are great basses, and confuse the punters enough that after gigs they actually talk to the bassist, believing that they are in fact a guitarist. Quote
Sibob Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 It's all about the Goldtop for an extra £40 Si Quote
mikel Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Utterly gorgeous. I presume from the pics its a short scale. It seems a little odd to spout on so much in that blurb about everything but the scale length. Quote
thebassist Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 They're 34" scale. I had one briefly - it sounded okay but the neck dive was absolutely awful so I moved it on. Quote
thodrik Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Interesting bridge as well. Can't be any worse than the three point bridge on my EB3! Quote
Sibob Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017
Extra £60 for Gold Top
Maths Shmaths . Still worth it over the Cherryburst! Si Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 DV247 were knocking Gibsons out for a lot less than that a couple of years ago... Thunderbirds and SG basses too. I picked up a Les Paul bass for £650 I think it was. It only lasted 5 minutes as it was the heaviest bass I've ever picked up, couldn't even consider playing it live. Sounded good though! Quote
Lozz196 Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017
They're 34" scale.
